Description

Hydroxyapatite is the primary inorganic component of bones (60%) and tooth enamel (90%) in vertebrate group. This material is preferably used for removing heavy metals and radioactive ions such as UO22+, Pb2+, Co2+ from the solution, due to its low water solubility and high stability in the oxidation and reduction, high specific surface area, good buffer properties, etc. The samples prepared by the wet precipitation method and then were characterized with several methods. The hydroxyapatites with different contents of Sn2+ ions were determined values of PZC by acid-base titration. (authors)
