Atomic displacements in the ortho-II and ortho-III phases of YBa2Cu3O6+x as determined by X-ray and neutron scattering

Description
The superstructures due to oxygen ordering in the Cu(1)O basal planes of YBa2Cu3O6+x, ortho-II and ortho-III phases, are studied by X-ray and neutron scattering on single crystals at room temperature. The antiparallel atomic displacements that accompany oxygen ordering are determined for both phases by the joint profile refinement of X-ray and neutron scattering data. The common structure features are discussed. ((orig.))
