Description

Objective: To explore the clinical relevance of measuring serum IL-8, ICTP and PINP levels both before and after operation in patients with bone metastasis cancer. Methods: Serum IL-8, ICTP and PINP (with RIA)Levels were measured in 31 patients with bone metastasis cancer and 35 controls. Results: Before operation, serum IL-8, ICTP and PINP levels were obviously higher than those in controls (P < 0.01). After operation for 6 months, the serum levels were no significant difference from those of controls (P > 0.05), serum IL-8 Level showed positively correlated with serum ICTP, PINP levels (r = 0.5123, 0.6012, P < 0.01). Conclusion: Determination of serum IL-8, ICTP and PINP Levels both before and after operation can be applied monitoring morbidity, therapeutic efficacy and prognosis, thus possess definite value clinically.
