π, K, and p production for bottom-quark events in e+e- annihilation at √s = 29 GeV

Description

π, K, and p production as a function of momentum has been measured for bottom-quark events in the 67 pb-1 TPC hadronic data set collected in 1985 and 1986. The bottom event identification was done on a statistical basis using the 3-momenta of the charged tracks in one (tagging) jet to compute inputs to a neural network, which provides a measure of the likelihood that the other (tagged) jet originated from a bottom quark. Several independent checks of the assignment of the likelihood and of possible biases in the tagging will be presented. Results will be compared with predictions of current hadronization models
