Crystal structures of mixed copper (II) compounds with racemic and optically active serine and butyrin

Description

The crystal structures of mixed copper (II) compounds with racemic and optically active forms of serine and butyrin, Cu2(D-Ser)(L-Ser)(D-But)(L-But) and Cu(D-Ser)(L-But), are studied by electron diffraction. The unit-cell parameters of both compounds are identical: a=20.32(2), b=9.62(2), and c=5.10(1) A; and γ=92.0(2) deg. The space groups of symmetry and the numbers of formula units per unit cell are, respectively, as follows: Cb, Z=2 and C21, Z=4. It is shown that these compounds are polytypic modifications
