Thorium estimation in the dissolver solution of PUREX process by ICP-AES
- 1. Tarapur Reprocessing Plant, Nuclear Recycle Board, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Tarapur (India)
Description
A method has been standardized for the determination of thorium in the dissolver solution of PUREX process. The method involves separation of uranium matrix from thorium by solvent extraction followed by measurement of analyte using ICP-AES.The method enables the determination of thorium at 0.01 ppm level with a precision of 5% (RSD). The method is precise and accurate yielding Th analytical recovery more than 98%. (author)
