Description
Romania's first nuclear power unit (Cernavoda-1) is being completed, alongside four identical units are under construction. By October 1992, Cernavoda-1's containment structure's radiation shielding capability is to be put on trial by leakrate test - after completion of all required liners, sealants and final closures of all penetrating embedded parts. The reactor building's structural integrity has already been proven this year through pressure tests. It is these tests' methods, instrumentation and results which are summarized in this article.
