Complex processing of apatite
Description
The results are reported of the operation of a test plant for a combined processing of apatite through its nitric acid decomposition and crystallization of calcium nitrate. The processing provides for the utilization of all valuable components contained in the apatite. The flow sheet is described, the main parameters and the performance data are presented. The recovery of the valuable components ensured by the method is as follows: phosphorus to a nitrate-phosphate liquor, 96%; fluorine to calcium fluoride, 65%; strontium to strontium carbonate, 66%; rare earth elements to a concentrate, 80%; calcium to calcium carbonate, 87%
