Safety research on advanced reprocessing process

Description
Primary request to an advanced reprocessing in future is reduction of cost and wastes. The reduction of neptunium was studied using a flow type electrolytic cell containing a carbon-fiber column electrode. Np (VI) (10-3 mol·l-1) in 3 mol·l-1 nitric acid solution was quantitatively reduced into Np (V) at the potential of 0.3 V vs. Ag/AgCl using the cell. Advanced reprocessing process is tested using solution of spent fuel burn-up with 44 GWd·t-1. (author)
