The light emission properties of ZnS:Mn nanoparticles

Description

ZnS and Mn-doped ZnS nanoparticles were synthesized via a simple hydrothermal synthesis method. The former emits super bright blue fluorescence light while the latter exhibits super-bright yellow light under a fluorescence microscope. Accordingly, their photoluminescence peaks are located at 420 nm and 580 nm in the spectra excited with 281 nm and 335 nm wavelengths, respectively. The super-bright ZnS:Mn nanoparticles can be used as a yellow fluorescence powder in making LED and plat display, and can be used as biological fluorescence probe to replace CdSe, CdS quantum dos without any damage to mankind and environment.
