The free Laplacian with attractive boundary conditions

Description
We consider the motion of a free quantum particle in a half space Rn-1 x R+. The dependence of surface states on the boundary conditions is investigated and the results are compared with those obtained by a Schroedinger operator with attractive short-range potential in the neighbourhood of the boundary. It is also shown that for boundary conditions sufficiently singular a collapse on the boundary occurs
