Description

The dc electrical transport in the semiconducting Pb2Sr2CaCu3O8 glass has been investigated in the temperature range 80-400 K. The analysis of the dc conductivity in terms of different hopping models shows that the multiphonon hopping of localized electrons with weak electron-phonon interaction is the dominant charge transport mechanism in this multicomponent glass. The physical parameters obtained from the best fit of the data to this theory are reasonable for the weak coupling regime. It has been observed that the variable range and the small polaron hopping theories cannot interpret the observed conductivity data quantitatively. (author)
