Chemiluminescence of reactions with oxygen in liquid environment
Description
This engineering research thesis addresses the study of the chemiluminescence process which occurs in many reactions, notably in all reactions schemes comprising one or more exotherm stages. The author briefly recalls the long history of the perception and study of this phenomenon, and briefly present a measurement apparatus. He indicates the required conditions for the production of chemiluminescence, discusses the mechanisms of this phenomenon according to various physicists (Vasilev, Lloyd, Bowen), discusses the influence of oxygen (stimulation effect, oxidation rate measurement, inhibiting effect) and studies related to the catalysis of chemiluminescence, to the inhibition of chemiluminescence. He evokes applications: study of the mechanism and kinetics of chemical reactions, study of properties of excited molecules, and others.
