Peculiarities of the structure and properties of superplasticity produced B-Al composites

  • 1. Institute of Metals Superplasticity Problems, Ufa (Russian Federation)

Description

It is established that Al-B composite properties are improved when their matrix is made superplastic. More dispersed state of Al borides at matrix-fiber interface accounts mainly for this improvement. In this paper, the authors present the results of an attempt to make use of this phenomenon to produce Al-B composite materials and the results of the influence of superplasticity on the structure of these materials
