Role of different cations and anions on the polarographic behaviour of UO2(II)

  • 1. St. John's Coll., Agra (India). Dept. of Chemistry

Description

Polarographic behaviour of UO2(II) has been studied in 0.1M NaClO4. The electrode reaction has been found to be diffusion-controlled and irreversible in presence of different cations and anions. The values of kinetic parameters, (αnsub(a) and ksub(f,h)sup(o)) of the electrode reaction have been calculated by Koutecky's method. The efficacies of various uni- and polyvalent cations and anions in suppressing the polarographic maximum of UO2(II) have been studied. (author). 4 tables, 11 refs
