X-ray and CT diagnosis of chest injury (analysis of 69 cases)

Description
Purpose: To discuss CT appearance and diagnostic value of closed and open chest injury. Materials and methods: Sixty-nine cases of chest injury were diagnosed by clinical, chest radiography and CT chest films were compared with CT. Results: CT scans showed that contusion of the lung was in 51 cases, laceration 12, and others coalition injury. The missed diagnosis of chest radiography were 21 cases and 7 cases, respectively. Conclusion: Position, character and degree of traumatic lesions were definitely diagnosed by CT. CT scans have high sensitivity and specificity. CT can provide more information and evidence to clinical diagnosis and treatment than X-ray. So it is the most important method in the diagnosis of traumatic chest
