Atmospheric dispersion experiments and extended meteorological measurements around an isolated hill

Description

About 15 years ago dispersion parameters for the Gaussian plume model were determined over a falt countryside in the northeast of Juelich. By the activities of coal mining the artificial hill ''Sophienhoehe'' has arisen in this area. In order to study its influence on the atmospheric dispersion extended metereological measurements of the wind field and dispersion experiment are carried out in this region. The main objective of these investigations is the compilation of a data base for the validation of different meteorological dispersion models for complex terrain. The methods of the meteorological measurements and dispersion experiments are described and some first results are presented. (author)

Cerca de 15 anos atras parametros de dispersao do modelo gaussiano de cinzas foram determinados sobre uma superficie da zona rural do nordeste de Juelich. Atraves das atividades da mina de carvao o morro artificial ''sophienhoehe'' alcancou esta area. Para estudar sua influencia sobre as medidas meteorologicas prolongadas de dispersao atmosferica do campo de ventos e experiencias de dispersao sao realizadas nesta regiao. O principal objetivo destas investigacoes e a compilacao da base de dados para a validacao de diferentes modelos de dispersao meteorologica para terrenos complexos. Os metodos de medidas meteorologicos e experiencias de dispersao sao descritos e alguns dos primeiros resultados sao apresentados. (M.C.K.)
