P-wave neutron induced fission studies
Description
The yields of light charged particles emitted in the fission of 239Pu were measured in the neutron energy range of 100 keV to 1 MeV. The yield of long range alpha particles is found to increase by about 20 percent over that for thermal fission in the neutron energy range 200 to 350 keV. The extracted triton yield shows a marked increase over the thermal value in the energy region 200 to 400 keV. There is an overall similarity in light charged particle yields in 239Pu and in the case of 235U investigated recently
