The IRSN has assessed the safety of the TN 833 parcel model containing barrels of bitumen coated wastes
Description
The TN 833 is a new parcel model aimed at the transportation of twelve barrels of bitumen-coated wastes produced by the La Hague AREVA NC plant. This report summarizes the assessment of this parcel by the IRSN. After having evoked issues of transportation safety and compliance with regulation, and a brief presentation of the parcel, it briefly summarizes the IRSN scope of expertise, the parcel structural and thermal analysis, and analysis of material confinement, radiation protection and sub-criticality
