Radiative decay of the 2p 2P/sub 3/2,1/2/ states of lithiumlike krypton (Z=36) and the 2s 2p 3P1 state of berylliumlike krypton

Description
The beam-foil time-of-flight technique has been used to measure the wavelengths and lifetimes of the Δn=0 transitions to the ground state 2p 2P/sub 3/2,1/2/ → 2s 2S/sub 1/2/ in lithiumlike Kr33+ and the intercombination transition 2s2p 3P1 → 2s21S0 in berylliumlike Kr32+. The following results are obtained for the transition, wavelength (A), and lifetime (nsec), respectively: Kr33+: 2P/sub 1/2/ → 2S/sub 1/2/, 174.15 +- 0.26, 0.32 +- 0.03; Kr33+: 2P/sub 3/2/ → 2S/sub 1/2/, 91.08 +- 0.10, 0.052 +- 0.003; Kr32+: 3P1 → 1S0, 169.9 +- 0.5, 2.3 +- 0.3. These results are compared with calculations
