Description

The main production programme of the Nuclear Power Plant Research Institute (VUJE) is the State Project: ''Implementation, increasing the safety and operating reliability of WWER nuclear power plants''. The Institute is also responsible for research and development work related to the decontamination, processing and depositing of radioactive wastes from the A-1 nuclear power plant, the conceptual problems of nuclear safety, the development of the decontamination methods of equipment, purification, solidification, reduction and bituminization of radioactive wastes, the development of the system of radiation monitoring, the problems of nuclear power plant maintenance. The results of research projects are being introduced into practice as soon as possible. (E.S.)
