Description
The contribution to the nuclear matrix element of double beta decay due to the admixture of six-quark states in the nucleus is evaluated for the decay of 48Ca, using MIT model six-quark bag wave functions. This contribution is dominant in the case of heavy Majorana neutrino exchange, and may also be important for a light Majorana neutrino. (orig.)
