The nature of the 'elementary particles'

Description
The question concerning the nature of elementary particles is discussed on the basis of the experimental facts and confronted with philosophical considerations. It is emphasized that certain ways of questioning have no meaning in the sub-nuclear domain, that in particular due to the relativistic structure of the dynamics it is not meaningful to talk about constituent parts of elementary particles. Die Frage was ein Elementarteilchen ist, wird auf dem Hintergrund der experimentellen Ergebnisse diskutiert und mit philosophischen Ueberlegungen konfrontiert. Dabei wird betont, dass bestimmte Fragestellungen im subnuklearen Bereich ihren Sinn verlieren, dass insbesondere auf Grund der relativistischen Struktur der Dynamik es keinen Sinn mehr hat, bei Elementarteilchen von Bestandteilen zu sprechen.
