Description

The electron accelerators are being increasingly used in industrial applications for modifying the physical, chemical or biological properties of materials and commercial products by treatment with ionizing radiations. Many beneficial effects can be obtained with these methods, known as radiation processing with electron beam (EB). Presently over 2500 electron accelerators based processing units are in operation worldwide contributing economically a significant amount towards the countries GDP. The paper presents the current status of EB Technology in India and abroad, its industrial applications with advantages over the conventional products and how its achieved employing process of EB Technology
