Description
A gauge invariant regularization for the chiral Higgs model is proposed. This regularization differs from the usual one by the presence of some coupling constants which tend to infinity when the regularization is removed. It leads to a bosonic effective action which is anomaly free. This effective action for the two-dimensional model is explicitly calculated. The resulting theory is shown to be unitary and gauge invariant. (orig.)
