Metal content in the Maikop sediments of the Mangyshlak

  • 1. All-Russian Research Institute of Mineral Resources, Moscow (Russian Federation)

Description

A comprehensive consideration of metal content in the Maikop sediments of the Mangyshlak is carried out. The largest group commercial uranium-rare metal ore-bearing region is characterized for the first time for that formation, and a description of the deposits is given, represented by bedded accumulations of metalliferous fish-bone detritus and of iron sulfides. Space-and-time interrelations of manganese concentrations and of uranium-rare metal ones are shown and the historical-geological preconditions are defined for the revealing of epochs of metal accumulation
