Description
The author reviews historical aspects of establishing the non-proliferation regime, nuclear safeguards as the Non-proliferation treaty (NPT) verification system, discusses the role of NPT in promotion of the peaceful uses of nuclear energy among the States which committed themselves to non-proliferation, outlines the tasks standing before the 1995 NPT Conference and stresses the important role of the IAEA in strengthening of the non-proliferation regime
