(t,3He) reactions on 56Fe, 58Fe, and 58Ni

Description
The /sup 56,58/Fe and the 58Ni(t,3He) reactions have been studied at E/sub t/ = 25 MeV. Differential cross sections have been measured in the angular range theta/sub lab/ = 5.50--500. The angular distributions have been compared with coupled-channels calculations and it is shown that J/sup π/ assignments can be made to a large number of states in /sup 56,58/Mn and in 58Co. This is the first comprehensive report of the use of the (t,3He) reaction as a tool for determining such J/sup π/ assignments
