Ariel V X-ray observations of two type I Seyfert galaxies

  • 1. Mullard Space Science Lab., Dorking (UK)

Description

The MSSL spectrometer on the Ariel V satellite has detected X-ray emission from two type I Seyfert galaxies ESO 012-G21 and Markarian 464. New X-ray spectra of these objects are presented. The observations establish the identity of the former as an X-ray source and indicate the existence of a low energy cut-off in the X-ray spectrum of the latter. (author)
