Test unit for measurement of small masses of alpha wastes
Description
New standards for waste surface storage require permanent management of fissile materials, even minute amounts, and accurate measurement of waste production. An accurate original system using gamma spectrometry is described in this article. It includes a lead shielded cell, a INa collimated sensor with direct counting including the peaks of Pu 239 and Pu 241 in the 400 keV range and data processing and recording. For a light matrix (cellulose or vinyl) sensitivity is 20 mg and accuracy +- 25 % and for a heavy matrix (graphite) 30 mg +- 40 %

Compte tenu des nouvelles normes imposees pour le stockage des dechets α en surface il est necessaire de gerer en permanence les matieres fissiles, si petites soient elles et de mesurer avec precision les quantites de dechets des leur production. Le systeme presente est original au niveau de sa conception, il utilise: une cellule blindee en plomb de faible activite, un capteur INa, collimate, avec comptage direct dans une ''fenetre'' d'energie assez large recouvrant les pics des isotopes 239 et 241 du plutonium, dans la zone des 400 Kev, un analyseur programmable IN 96Files
