Perfusion scintigraphy for the diagnosis of pulmonary artery thromboembolism following surgery for acute gynecological diseases

Description

The purpose of this study was to assess the role of scintigraphy of the lungs in the diagnosis of thromboembolism of the pulmonary artery in 27 patients during the postoperative period. Three types of scintigrams were distinguished: 1) defects of perfusion corresponding to anatome of the lungs; 2) zones of decreased fixation of the radiopharmaceutical agent corresponding to segments of the lungs in the presence of diffuse changes in the microcirculation; 3) no signs of disorders of pulmonary bloodflow and microcirculation. Scintigraphic signs of microcirculation recovery after segmented thromboembolism of pulmonary arteries are observed after anticoagulant therapy on days 10-14. 7 refs
