Numerical solution of equation for shock wave propagation in solids generated by powerful impulse flows (PIF) of charged particles

Description
During irradiation of solids with PIF number of long-range effects have been observed. So under metals irradiation by ion PIF (70%C+, 30%H+) with flow density power more than 108 V/cm2 an increase of microhardness in depths by one order of ion range greater is observed. Also redistribution of doping elements concentration in alloys within non-irradiated field is observed. Analysis of causes calling these phenomena shows that the shock wave and following mass transfer bring defining role in these processes. Calculation of shock-wave profiles is conducted in the paper. Initial profile is assigned by PIF irradiation regimes by with calculated distribution of absorption dose. Solution of equations has been carried out with help net method with different spatial and temporal intervals. Shock wave profiles for different materials and various irradiation regimes are calculated. Special interest present pressure distribution, its spatial gradient and energy release by samples depth. Kinetic model of defects generation and following phase transformations within shock wave field is proposed. The model allows to explain observing spatial changes of mechanical properties and redistribution of doping element concentrations. Possibility of serviceability of these calculation for other kinds of irradiation and explanation of some long-range effects are discussed
