Centauro processes 2
Description
Some objections to the interpretation of Centauro phenomena as a completely new type of physical process are discussed. Bjorken and McLerran's hypothesis of drops of nuclear material with density 30-100 times that of normal nuclei is presented and discussed. Finally, evidence for the existence of a threshold at about 100 TeV is given. The experimental elementary particle group at the Institute of Physics at Oslo University has a number of emulsion chambers in the process of exposure on transatlantic SAS aircraft and at the top of a mountain in S. Norway. (JIW)
