Thorotrast granuloma (thorotrastoma)
- 1. Nagoya Univ. (Japan). Faculty of Medicine
Description
Two cases of thorotrastoma, due to infusion of thorotrast which later leaked out of the vessels and become deposited in various regions, are reported. One patient had a huge thorotrastoma due to angiography of the lower left limb performed 27 years before. Left lateral pelvic dieresis was necessary. The other patient had a thorotrastoma and paralysis of the ulnar nerve due to intravascular infusion of thorotrast through the left anconeal fossa 26 years before. The thorotrastoma and the region surrounding it was resected as much as possible. Literature dealing with disturbances due to thorotrast is discussed. (Ueda, J.)
