On the Internal Structure of Enceladus

Description
Full text: We present an advanced model for the interior of Enceladus which allows us to estimate the physical conditions at the bottom of the satellite's potential subsurface water reservoir. It enables us to determine the radial gradients of pressure, mass and gravity. This three layer model (silicate core, liquid water layer, ice shell) is applied on five different scenarios regarding the mean density of Enceladus' rocky core. The region at the water/ rock-boundary seems to be highly interesting for astrobiological studies. (author)
