India's nuclear leap

Human beings have a tendency to push unpleasant thoughts and disturbing possibilities under the carpet. They simply refuse to acknowledge the existence of unpalatable truths. The possibility of nuclear war is one such unpleasant topic, which makes people uncomfortable. Unfortunately, after the testing of the nuclear bombs by India and Pakistan in May 1998 and fast deteriorating Indo-Pak relations over Kashmir, the nuclear issue can not be swept under the carpet any more. The purpose of compiling this volume is to start a nuclear debate in the country and help build a public opinion against use of nuclear weapons
