Nuclear power will obviously be one of the carbon-free solutions of the future. But what type of nuclear power are we talking about? Alongside conventional nuclear and other technologies (EPR, etc.), a smaller, smarter solution is emerging: the small modular nuclear reactor, known as the SMR (Small Modular Reactor), the AMR (Advanced Modular Reactor), the MMR (Micro Modular Reactor) or the XSMR (eXtra Small Modular Reactor). What will the technical-economic model associated with these SMRs look like? What are the advantages of these new reactors in terms of resilience? How can we ensure that France and Europe are not left behind, both in terms of R and D and industrial production? SMRs will clearly be at the heart of the energy debates of the future

Le nucleaire fera a l'evidence partie des solutions decarbonees de demain. Mais quel nucleaire? A cote du nucleaire conventionnel et d'autres filieres (EPR..) se profile une solution plus small et smart, celle des petits reacteurs nucleaires modulaires, baptises SMR (Small Modular Reactor), AMR (Advanced Modular Reactor), MMR (Micro Modular Reactor) ou XSMR (eXtra Small Modular Reactor). Comment se construit le nouveau modele technico-economique lie? Quels atouts en termes de resilience presentent ces nouveaux reacteurs?
