Plasma-surface interactions in controlled fusion devices
Description
The 10th International Conference on Plasma-Surface Interactions in Controlled Fusion Devices was organized and sponsored by Sandia National Laboratories, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories, and by the United States Department of Energy. Proceedings were published as special volumes of the Journal of Nuclear Materials. This report gives a survey for the non-specialist, including sections on (i) hydrogen retention, recycling and permeation; (ii) plasma edge studies and improved confinement; (iii) divertors, limiters and active control of edge plasmas; (iv) helium removal and impurity behaviour; (v) wall conditioning; (vi) sputtering, erosion and plasma facing materials; (vii) and an account of the discussion during an ITER panel
