Dissociation of molybdenum and tungstem selenides

Description
This paper determines the characteristics of the high-temperature behavior of molybdenum and tungsten selenides using a method of isothermal evaporation in vacuum with mass spectrometric analysis of the vapor. The molybdenum and tungsten selenides are characterized by the regions of homogeneity with respect to selenium whose limiting composition corresponds to MoSe /SUB 1.91/ (1515 K) and WSe /SUB 1.87/ (1534 K). The selenides with the limiting compositions dissociate and the main component of the vapor is represented by the molecules of Se2. The difference in the enthalpies determined in this work and in the literature is associated with the differences in chemical composition and with the fact that the homogeneity regions were ignored
