Switching requirements for laser fusion
Description
A brief overview of fusion laser research is given, with a discussion of the possible characteristics of a fusion laser. The design of pulse power systems for high energy gas discharge lasers is discussed, and these are extrapolated to define the switching requirements for a laser controlled thermonuclear reactor (LCTR) based power plant
