Comment on the quadrupole moment of the first-excited 2+ state of 18O
Description
To obtain the large quadrupole moment recently reported for the 21+ level of 18O a dominant (sd)4p-2 configuration is needed. This is inconsistent with the magnetic moment of the 21+ level,which indicates a dominant (sd)2 configuration, in agreement with model predictions
