Monopole annihilations and the knee in cosmic ray data

Creators

Description

The hypothesis is made that the knee in the integrated primary cosmic ray spectrum is due to the nucleon(antinucleon) decay products of monopole-antimonopole annihilations. The rate of such annihilations is calculated and some speculations on the annihilation scenario are presented. (author)
