Description
The spatial distribution of Cr deposited on metallic surfaces at concentrations of about 1016 at/cm2 was examined by detecting the radiation components emitted in the 51Cr decay. The autoradiography revealed a non-homogeneous Cr covering. Auger electron and X-ray spectra provided information on the Cr concentration, especially in a 2 nm thick surface layer. This concentration was found to depend strong|y on the chromatation procedure applied. The influence of multiple vacancies on the LMM Auger spectrum of vanadium was investigated theoretically.
