A study on the improvement of power change operation flexibility

  • 1. Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute, Daejeon (Korea, Republic of)

Description

Using a one-dimensional nuclear code, Odeon developed by KAERI, the operational transient following a large power change in Kori Unit 3, cycle 3 has been simulated. Results of the simulation confirm the validity of applying Odeon in searching the optimum path for an operation which demands large power change. For a large power change operation, various simulations with different operational paths have been conducted with the Odeon. From their results some operational paths were found to be practically useful in application to actual plant operation
