Proton polarization in inelastic nuclear scattering

Description
Expressions for proton polarization and asymmetry in inelastic scattering with exciting low-lying vibrational nuclear states are derived on the basis of the multiple diffraction scattering theory. The calculated cross-sections and polarizations (asymmetries) are in agreement with experimental data on elastic and inelastic 0.8 GeV proton scattering by sup(116,124)Sn and 1 GeV unpolarized proton scattering by 12C nuclei
