Pulse current effect on strength and plastic properties of structural materials under static tension

Description

A testing machine and technique are described that allow to investigate mechanical properties of structural materials under static tension at cryogenic temperatures and under the action of pulse or constant electric currents. Investigation results are given for the influence of electric current with 10 ms pulse duration and 2.5x102 MA/m2 density on mechanical properties of the O3Kh13AG19 steel after single or repeated application of current. The value and the character of an electric current effect on mechanical properties of the steel mentioned is shown to depend on deformation degree, test temperature and loading conditions
