Photodesintegration of some light nuclei at incident gamma ray energies up to 40 MeV
Description
Several photonuclear reactions on 14C and 14N leading to three particles in the final state have investigated using bremsstrahlung gamma rays from a 42 MeV betatron. Cross sections for reactions 12C(γ, 3α), 12C(γ, pα)7Li, 12C(γ, dα)6Li, 14N(γ,2α)6Li and 14N(γ, 3He4He)7Li are given as functions of gamma energy. Correlation measurements of some reactions at fixed excitation energy of the target nucleus show the predominance of sequential decays
