Description

The paper considers new principles of agglomeration of CsI aerosols on the basis of their cocrystallization with a macro-aerosol, specially introduced into the system. Eventually, two types of cocrystallization have been discovered: agglomerative cocrystallization when two aerosols simultaneously enter into the structure of the newly formed particle, and isomorphic cocrystallization when the mixing of the components occurs at the molecular level. The results obtained may open up a new approach for controlling the adverse impacts of severe nuclear power plant accidents. (author)
