Description

Searching bio fuels replaced mineral diesel reduces the energy cost and contributes for low carbon and green growth attracted many studies. The comparative study on using alternative bio fuels such as waste cooking oil (WC), palm biodiesel, biogas from biomass waste, methane gas mixed with diesel oil (DO) and use for diesel engine to find out the advantages of bio fuels targeted in proposal of using alternative energy from biomass waste. The fuel heat value, the viscosity, electric power, fuel consumption, temperature of exhausted gas, and temperature engine and gas emission such as SO2, NOx, CO when using alternative fuels were testing and comparing. The result showed that the biofuel: biogas, WC or biodiesel could be replaced up to 93% of convention DO and using alternative fuel is feasible for diesel electric engine. The concentration of exhausted gas CO2, O2, SO2, NO2 and CO was tested and the measured result shower the improvement of air emission quality when using bio fuels. (author)
