Improving the Safe Operation and New Open Policy at the VR-1 Reactor

  • 1. Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering, Department of Nuclear Reactors, Czech Technical University in Prague, Prague (Czech Republic)

Description

The VR-1 reactor is operated for training of university students and nuclear power plant personnel, R and D, and information services for non-military nuclear energy use. During the last four years, many improvements in operation have been achieved. Some of them are important from the safety related point of view. In early 2003, a new Web portal with on-line information from the operation of the reactor was launched. The Web portal brings new features in the way to opening information about operation of the VR-1 reactor to the public. (author)
